Crimes in Keddie
The main inspiration for this movie comes from a series of brutal murders that took place in Keddie, California in 1979. On the night of August 28, Martin Smart and his wife Gloria, along with their daughters Tina (12 years old) and Barbara (15 years old), were brutally murdered in their home.

Their eldest daughter, 17-year-old Sheila, was not at home at the time and managed to escape the tragedy. Sheila returned home the next day to find her family cruelly murdered.
The killer left footprints all over the house and took several items belonging to the Smart family, including Tina's guitar and Barbara's camera.
To this day, the Keddie Murders case remains unsolved. Investigators have interviewed many people, but no suspects have ever been arrested or charged.
