Starfield Backlash Paid Mods Go Viral in 2024, Bethesda Charging $7 for Each New Mission

--

VOLKPOP.co - Starfield is more controversial now than ever, and the situation has become so serious that developer Bethesda Game Studios has addressed it head-on. The spacefaring role-playing game has always divided opinion, and complaints about repetition and lack of interesting content compared to Bethesda's previous games have sometimes overshadowed its strengths.

The recent introduction of paid mods added fuel to the fire, and an official Bethesda mission released via the Starfield Creations platform for a price resulted in a significant increase in negative reviews.

Starfield developer Bethesda is currently facing a backlash due to the $7 mission from their recently released Creation Kit. Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard responded to disgruntled players' feedback, saying that the studio "hears that feedback."

In case you missed the drama - last week Starfield introduced new Trackers Alliance missions via its Creation Kit. The problem arose when one of these missions, The Vulture, was only available as a Starfield Creation for $7, or rather $10, as 1,000 Starfield Creation Credits are required to purchase it. This decision was met with criticism from players, as evidenced by numerous red thumbs on Steam.

Todd Howard, head of Bethesda Game Studios, has responded to the criticism of Starfield's paid mods and confirmed that the developer will look at its pricing model for Creation content. However, Howard acknowledged that it gave players the impression that they were "chopping up" a faction and selling it for "700 credits at a time".
