Other changes over the standard Defender include 1.1 inches of extra ground clearance, a track that's 2.7 inches wider, and wheel and tire packages from 20 to 22 inches. The front brakes are larger than the standard model. The front grille and bumper are restyled and the underbody has a graphite spray. There are also yellow front marker lights, which Land Rover says are required due to the extra width of the OCTA. A special OCTA driving mode has been added via a long press of a button on the steering wheel, which promises different tuning and an off-road-focused launch control.
Inside, there are sportier seats wrapped in either semi-aniline leather or a range of other upholstery choices, including more durable materials like Kvadrat textile or a material from Ultrafabrics. The seats also have built-in speakers and a feature that makes the seat vibrate in time with the music. OCTA will only be offered for the five-seat 110 configuration.
Land Rover says orders are open now and OCTA will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK later this month.
