2024 Porsche Panamera, One of the Best and Fastest Sport Hatchbacks this Year

2024 Porsche Panamera, One of the Best and Fastest Sport Hatchbacks this Year

VOLKPOP.co - Cars that boast a high level of luxury are often at the expense of sharper handling. Since its inception, the Porsche Panamera has tended to the opposite, offering true agility - as you would expect from a car with a Porsche coat of arms on the hood - by sacrificing a degree of comfort on the road. Porsche is seeking a broader performance envelope for the 2024 Panamera and hopes to remedy that by giving its luxury sports sedan a little extra, you know, luxury.

The third-generation Panamera comes out swinging with changes in almost every corner of the car. You might not notice that it's been changed, but it has. The front end has a new nostril above the license plate holder to improve airflow. The silhouette has changed slightly, but honestly, it's still very much a Panamera.

Inside, the 2024 Panny is better at differentiating itself from its predecessor. The dashboard has undergone a major digital transformation. The "key" to turn to start on the left side is now just a button. The gear level for the standard dual-clutch automatic transmission has been removed from the center console and replaced by a less than ergonomic knob behind the steering wheel. To fill the hole the size of the gear lever on the center console, Porsche has... added several shiny black parts. Hopefully your fingertips don't produce oil. The vents are still controlled via infotainment and are as intricate as ever, but they look a little better.

Porsche has finally dispensed with the obligatory analog center gauge - perhaps the biggest potential heresy. Instead, there's a 12.6-inch digital gauge, and to the right of that is a 10.9-inch central screen that handles all the traditional infotainment tasks. A second 10.9-inch screen (optional) mirrors this option for the passenger and is designed to prevent the driver's prying eyes from being further distracted.
